2020 Fall Activities Fair Attendees’ Guide

The first-ever SAC Virtual Activities Fair will be held September 1-3 from 5-8pm (EST) each day. This year's fair may look a little different from years past, but it preserves the essential aspect of any club fair: helping YOU find and interact with the vast array of student clubs that Penn has to offer!

PENN CLUBS 101:

The fair will be hosted entirely on the Penn Clubs database at https://pennclubs.com/. All you need to log in and access the fair is your regular PennKey login ID. When you log in for the first time, you'll be prompted to fill in some basic profile information that you can later send to clubs you're interested in learning more about (more on that later).

The Penn Clubs homepage lets you discover clubs through keyword and name searches, as well as various filters. This database is accessible all year round, and we encourage you to use it beyond just the club fair as your go-to student club resource.

SAC VIRTUAL FAIR LIVE EVENT:

During the fair's scheduled hours, clicking on the SAC Virtual Fair banner at the top of the Penn Clubs homepage will direct you to the Live Event page. Here, you can view all the clubs currently live. Clicking on the club's screen will open a pop up with a brief description.

From there, you have two options:

1)The main fair functionality is each club's informational Zoom meeting, linked on their screen. Representatives of each club will be available in these meetings to answer questions, give short presentations, and otherwise interact with students.

2) You can visit the individual club pages. Each club's page has a description, contact information, and a FAQ feature that club officers will be monitoring throughout the fair that you can use to ask questions. Questions can be submitted anonymously.

There are two essential features of Penn Clubs that you can use to track and communicate with clubs. First is the Bookmark button; any club you bookmark will be added to your bookmarks list, which is easily accessible from your profile (which you can find by clicking your name in the top right corner of any Penn Clubs page).

Second is the Subscribe bell; any club you subscribe to will also be accessible from a list on your profile. Additionally, subscribing will send your profile information and email to that club so that they'll know you're interested and will add you to their mailing list.

FAIR SCHEDULE:

Each day of the fair will feature clubs of specific categories. If you're looking for a particular club and aren't sure which category it is, we recommend logging into Penn Clubs before the fair begins and searching for clubs ahead of time. Each participating club will have its fair slot listed on their club page.

Sept 1st will feature the following club categories:

  • Academic/Pre-Professional

  • Arts

Sept 2nd will feature the following club categories::

Sept 3rd will feature the following club categories:

If for any reason you are unable to attend the live activity fair virtual sessions, we strongly encourage you to continue using the PennClubs database to search for and connect with any clubs of interest to you. The FAQ feature will also be available beyond the hours of the fair to ask questions of any clubs you're curious about!

If you encounter any issues with the technical aspects of PennClubs, please email contact@pennclubs.com.
