Re-recognition

Groups that have lost their SAC recognition for any reason can request re-recognition.  Send an email to meeting[at]sacfunded.net to organize a re-recognition meeting.  Groups requesting re-recognition should be prepared to address the following questions at their re-recognition meeting.

  • Why did the group lose its SAC recognized status: Be prepared to explain the circumstances regarding the loss of the group’s SAC recognition.
  • What steps is the group taking to ensure this does not happen again: Depending on the circumstances surrounding the loss of recognition, describe the steps the group is taking to ensure that this will not happen again.
  • If the group has lost recognition on multiple occasions expect a higher level of scrutiny in regard to an application for re-recognition.

You will also have to have the following documents ready for your SAC meeting:

1. Your constitution, delineating your organization””””s purpose, mission and structure, including specifics about,   if recognized as a SAC group, who will represent your group in SAC.
2. Completed SAC recognition questionnaire
3. A list of past and planned events
4. Explanation of why your group was derecognized, and what steps you have taken to avoid this from happening in the future (e.g.your constitution should explain who is responsible attending SAC meetings, and what happens in the event that this person is unavailable)
