Overview:

SAC is funded through the Undergraduate Assembly, which allocates money each year based on the University’s general fee. SAC Exec does a careful analysis of group costs and revenues to allocate budgets each year, and our main concern is improving student group experience at Penn for our 200+ constituent groups.

 

Budgets:

Each year, student groups use the SAC Online system to create budget requests for the upcoming year. Budgets are school year long (September-May). Please use the Budget Request Wizard on SAC Online to fill out a Budget Request.  More information about 2013-2014 budgets will be available in February 2013.

 

Contingency

To create a budget you must first logon to your SAC Online Account (http://sac.students.vpul.upenn.edu/login.asp). Then, on the left hand sidebar click on click on “Budget Request.” From there first consult the budget guidelines, so that you are sure that you are requesting something that SAC can fund. The guidelines are available on the page that pops up once you click Budget Request. After that, click “Start The Budget Request Wizard.” On the preceding page, three options will pop up. Click the middle option “Create or edit my 2012-2013 Contingency Requests.” Then, you will be prompted on the following page to “Begin New Contingency Request.” Once clicking that button you get to start filling out the relevant information for your request. Start by filling out a description and your contact information. Then, on the preceding page you will see a list of all of the categories that we fund. Click on the oval button “Add a New Activity” at the top. Fill out the information about your activity, and then add “new line items” and select a category under which you are requesting money. For example, if you are requesting for a speaker select the category “Honoraria/Services.” For details on which category to select consult the SAC Funding Guidelines, which you saw on one of the first pages. After filling out all of the activities click “Generate Budget Request.” Finally, you must email meeting@sacfunded.net to set up a time to meet with SAC Exec before you receive funding.
