SAC helped fund the Philomathean Society”s Annual Oration, where Pulitzer Prize wining author and scientist Jared Diamond spoke to students and faculty about water and the collapse of civilizations. Here Philomathean members enjoy a private conversation with Jared Diamond.

Jared Diamond is just one of the noted speakers brought to campus with the help of SAC funding. Spring Checklist

As you start the new academic year, there are a few steps you can take to make sure your SAC group has a smooth year:

1) Update contact info (email address) on the SAC LISTSERVE. To subscribe, send an e-mail to listserv@lists.upenn.edu with the message: sub saclist Your Name (Leave the subject line blank). You’ll receive an email requesting confirmation of your subscription to the list.

2) Have 2 group officers sign up for DART training (TBA)

3) Have a group representative designated to go to SAC”s GBMs (mark your calendars with all of this year”s GBM meetings).

4) Update your group”s contact information with your sac exec liaison.

5) Check your SAC online account to make sure that no debt has been left over and that funds allocated for this year are present.

Colleges Against Cancer

The Colleges Against Cancer team after Relay for Life in April, an event to raise awareness about cancer that over 1,500 students and dozens of SAC groups took part in. Relay for Life raised over $87,000 for cancer research and survivors. To learn more about other groups raising awareness about important societal issues, visit Go Penn.

Welcome to the home of Penn””s Student Activities Council. SAC exists to support undergraduate student groups with funding and advising. Our member organizations have proven their ability to fulfill unique missions and to add value to the Penn community. In fact, SAC is made up of 200 student groups, and we are still growing!

SAC recognized groups can browse the website for information on the process to request funding, alternative funding sources, financial policies, and information about their SAC liaison and financial adviser.

Non-SAC groups can find information about how to become SAC recognized!
