Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC)
Description: The Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) is an international organization headquartered right here in Philadelphia with chapters at universities all over the world. It strives to provide access to medical care for the millions of underprivileged and medically underserved children around the world. At Penn, we aim to provide medical services through fundraising and volunteering in both our local and global communities. Our purpose is simply to make a difference in the lives of children everywhere.
Description: GlobeMed is a network of university students who partner with grassroots organizations around the world to improve the health of people living in poverty. Through their involvement today, students commit to a life of leadership in global health and social justice. GlobeMed’s student-led chapters partner with grassroots organizations, primarily in developing countries. Chapters fund health projects that help partner organizations achieve their mission, educate students about global health issues through a yearlong Global Health Education and Leadership Development Curriculum and on-campus events and intern on-site with partner organizations. This approach empowers students and communities to work together to improve the lives of impoverished people around the world. Through their involvement in GlobeMed, students are equipped to become lifelong advocates for global health equity.

Description: PennDAPA is the University of Pennsylvania’s only completely student-run on-campus organization dedicated to reducing harm associated with substance use. We hope to give students a voice in addressing substance use at Penn.
Queer People of Color
Description: Queer People of Color at University of Pennsylvania addresses issues that pertain to individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ) and as persons of color by providing a safe social space.
Description: TableTalk is a framework for conversation between people who would not interact under ordinary circumstances. We provide an accessible and intentional context for members of the Penn community to get to know one another, share a meal, ask penetrating questions, temporarily leave their realms of comfort and adopt new ones. TableTalk serves to create a more vibrant and inclusive community on college campuses through four different initiatives that aim to bring people together in creative, innovative ways.
Description: TEDxPenn was founded in 2010 by students to spark powerful ideas within the vibrant University of Pennsylvania community. Live speakers and TEDTalks videos will combine to inspire deep discussion and connection in a small group. We aim to foster an environment for spreading ideas. In turn, we hope that the Penn community will be challenged by the TEDxPenn experience to create a positive impact for the world.
Transfer Student Organization
Description: Founded by transfers in 2011, the Transfer Student Organization (TSO) is a community of transfer students dedicated to providing academic and social support for its members. Transferring to a new school presents challenges outside the realm of traditional advising and support structures and thus TSO was created.
Description: The Penn Vegan Society is an academic and professional society committed to promoting and elevating discourse about plant based diets through the realms of bioethics, environmental sustainability, and personal and public health. This is accomplished through hosting academic based events paired with excellent plant based food options and by working closely with Penn Dining and area restaurants to ensure that high quality vegan options are accessible and visible.
Women in Leadership Series
Description: Women In Leadership Series (WILS) strives to connect Penn students with established female leaders in a variety of fields through seminars, discussions, and workshops. WILS was founded by six undergraduate women who recognized the severe shortage of women in leadership positions at Penn. We believe that by cultivating relationships between successful female leaders and Penn students, we can motivate more women to strive for positions of leadership at Penn and beyond.
